A selection of my earliest work dating from the first half of the nineties.
At the time, my kit list was pretty basic really; a 12 track Mackie desk, an Akai S01 sampler with a massive 15.1 seconds of sampling time (!), a Novation BassStation, a Korg 05R/W and one Alesis outboard FX unit – these were the days before the advent of computer-based audio editing. It’s hard to imagine life without software like Sound Forge now!
Essentially these tracks are all live takes, either transcribed from DAT or good ol’ chrome cassette, hence a little hiss that appears on some of these pieces. I’ve spent time re-mastering and EQing, so they sound alright.
