New to Chill, September 1 2018

This week, we’ve found one of our favourite albums of the year so far, plus lots more to help you chill. If you’ve found anything we should be playing, you can email music@helpmechill.com

Ólafur Arnalds – re:member

A brilliant composer made these tunes with a remarkably inventive process, fusing software and algorithms with physical instruments and human inspiration. You can watch more about it here, and enjoy tracks from the album with us on Chill across the day.

Craig Armstrong feat. Guy Garvey – Cornflower (Marelle)

Chill with this collaboration between one of our favourite screen composers and the voice of Elbow. It’s going to be performed live for the first time at Union Chapel on Tuesday 11 September, and you can read more about it in a great article here.

Nik Turner and Youth – Pharaohs From Outer Space

Hawkwind’s legendary sax player has recently released this set of chilled, jazzy and experimental tunes. We’re playing Toltec Flying Pyramid and Magnetron on Chill.

Endemico – piano works

We’ve just added lots more tracks from this beautiful album to our playlist.

New to Chill, August 25 2018

We hope your bank holiday weekend will bring you extra time to chill. Whether you’re working or playing, we’ll bring the tunes, including these new ones. If you’ve found anything we should be playing, you can email music@helpmechill.com

Soothsayers – Good Vibrations

Peace and love-loving summery dub from London.

Santpoort – Mudflat Hikers

Inspired by the Dutch landscape the artist grew up with, these beautiful tracks aren’t overly busy or crowded, but represent a big space that stretches on the horizon.

Masked Man – Coo Lullaby

Young, bubbly, giggling and gurgling in a cutely endearing way, this is one for the mums and dads who need a little help to chill this weekend.

Daniel Benjamin – The Sleep Sessions vol. 2

British screen music composer Daniel Benjamin has brought the emotion to scores of ads and shows, but this album is about helping you chill as deeply as possible. We’re playing most of these tunes overnight, but “Jupiter” is one you’ll hear across the day on Chill.

Thomas Datt – Glitch In The System

We found this 2014 tune on a new compilation album, and it’s true to say that it’s a slow builder. If you’ve got five minutes to go with it, it’ll take you somewhere extremely chilled…

This seasonal compilation by the SVNSET WAVES label brings a wide variety of chilled beats, grooves and ambiences together to celebrate the summer. We’re playing several tracks from this, including Stan Forebee – Unwritten

This Italian producer makes a massive range of ambient, synthwave and electronic music, but we love his recent album of piano works like this. We’ll be playing more soon, but this is a beautiful place to start.

Whether you’re planning to go around the world this year or just dream about it, we’ve (virtually) done it and brought you back the tunes to prove it. If you’ve found anything we should be playing too, you can email music@helpmechill.com

Chillhop Daydreams

A blissful new collection of summery soundtracks, described by the label as “the sound of the wind, the music, and nothing else. Watching the world from above, daydreaming.”

Ken Wakan – Indigo

Beautifully layered vocals and soulful instruments make this Bulgarian born, LA based producer’s latest track a special one to chill with.

Lars Lentz – On Location

Super-chilled piano mixed with the artist’s field recordings of local atmosphere and weather. If hearing the rain while you stay dry helps you chill, this is for you. We’re playing “High Street” across the day and the other tunes after midnight.

Nicola Conte & Spiritual Galaxy – Let Your Light Shine On

Italian guitarist and bandleader Nicola Conte has made what he calls a “spiritual or cosmic Afro-jazz” album which blends chilled influences from around the world. In a stressful week, could “Cosmic Peace” help you chill?

Plus we’ve added a fresh batch of classics, including this one you might recognise…

New to Chill, August 4 2018

This might be the month you go on holiday, help your kids enjoy their holiday, or do extra work while everyone else does holiday stuff… Whatever your holiday situation, we can help you chill with tunes, including these new ones and loads more. If you would like to suggest anything we should be playing, you can email music@helpmechill.com

Elobrian Sunrise – Secret Garden

Enjoy the dreamy textures and blooming landscapes of this blissful chillhop collection.

Salvinsky – Planets

These super chilled tunes might bring some faraway destinations to mind. They each bear the name of a planet from the far reaches of sci fi inspiration, where only humans have a concept of “earth”. We’re landing on Planets 01000WHR and 06000TRV the most.

Joakim Karud – Ocean

Back on our planet, this chilled tune from Sweden feels like a refreshing ocean view.

Sad Radio On Cassini – August

Delicate, chilled and topical tune from St Petersburg.

Chris Durkin feat. Caitlin Stubbs – Run

British DJ and producer Chris Durkin releases his first new tune for a couple of years.

Jens Buchert – Best Of

We’re also catching up on a bunch of tunes from one of our favourite producers whose talent is to blend acoustics with electronica most beautifully.
