Birocratic – Zesty Surprise

This one sums up the general mood nicely. It’s laid back, but with an irresistible smile-inducing funkiness.

This retro-infused collection of lo-fi grooves from Contemporary Tapes shipped on limited edition hand dubbed cassettes last week. Now it’s digitally available, we can share it without having to find our tape head cleaning fluid, cotton buds and pencil. We’ll be playing “I’m Gone And Forever Yours” and “Software_update:self_ver.77.7” across the day.

 

String Theory – Dirty High

The Glaswegian duo have made “a symphony of modular synthesis, swelling strings and the bounciest drums we’ve heard in a long time,” according to their new label, Rhythm Section. We think it might just grab your head and make you swing and smile.

 

Robot Koch – Love Your Home & Hideaway

It’s not all party, party, party here – we’ve also found some beautiful, reflective music from the German-born, Los Angeles-based cinematic composer Robot Koch. We’re playing a couple of our favourites from his recent releases.
