November 2018

New to Chill, December 1 2018

December already? We need to relax for a bit before the holidays get hectic, so we’re adding lots of restful ambiences to Chill this weekend. If you’ve found anything else we should be playing, you can email music@helpmechill.com

Bruno Sanfilippo – Subliminal Pulse

We agree with Sonic Immersion who wrote that “the intrinsic pulsations within Sanfilippo’s soaring mood music create a sense of awe…”

H.takahashi – Low Power

This Tokyo based architect and sound engineer has elegantly constructed a simple house to chill in.

Chronotope Project – Lotus Rising

This ambient electronica is a series of reflections on Zen Buddhism, from a composer who is a thirty year Zen practitioner.

Alberto Giurioli – Nightfall

A beautiful new piece from this Italian pianist and composer.

Sid Sriram – It Isn’t True

Couldn’t resist throwing this one song into the mix, from an Indian music producer and performer who is gaining fans around the world.

New to Chill, November 24 2018

How do you fancy an extra chilled weekend? We’d love to spend it with you, and we’ve brought some new tunes round to enjoy. If you’ve found anything else we should be playing, you can email music@helpmechill.com

Benjamin Francis Leftwich – Gratitude

From the York singer-songwriter’s upcoming third album, this is a gently uplifting song about finding pleasure and purpose in simple things. We love it.

Aeris Roves – Comfortable

One of our favourite emerging artists this year, the smooth and assured vocals on this track make us feel very comfortable indeed.

Monma, Misha & Jussi Halme – Brazil

An award winning jazz pianist meets chillhop producers and magically transports us to South America. Somehow. It’s joyous.

mommy x Philanthrope – Inaudible

A collaboration fusing chilled beats with the sounds of acoustic guitars and rainy days. We’re playing lots of songs from this deeply relaxing album.

Skinshape – I Didn’t Know

Skinshape brings old school soul together with folk and rock influences to make music with satisfying depth and sometimes surprising twists – stick around for the lush instruments which come in near the end…

Emmit Fenn – Yellow

Couldn’t resist adding this chilled cover. It’s not acoustic as you might expect, but gloriously synthetic and chilled to perfection by Emmit’s beautiful voice.

New to Chill, November 17 2018

So, how has your work week been? If you’re feeling the need to chill, we’ve got a song full of cat purrs, an ambient soundtrack that makes the news feel better, and lots more chilled finds. If you’ve found anything else we should be playing, you can email music@helpmechill.com

H.E.R. – I Used To Know Her – Part 2

The wilfully mysterious Gabriella Wilson chose the stage name H.E.R. (“Having Everything Revealed”) to make her work more about the music than the stardom. It’s beautifully chilled RnB, and we are playing a few tracks like this one.

Chris Coco Sacha Puttnam – The Beauty Is In The Falling (EP)

World famous producer of many chilled tunes and the Melodica show (every weekend on Chill!), Chris Coco has made some experimental ambient music which just keeps growing on us.

H.1 – Again

The Chillhop sound has become a global phenomenon. This tune shows how they are chilling with it in Italy.

Urban City Vibes Vol. 1

Showing that this sound has spread way beyond one label and a couple of continents, we’re playing our favourites from this new collection from Urban Orange Music.

Artist Choice 062: Jero Nougues (Chillout Selection)

On a more ambient theme, we’re loving this new collection of imaginative chilled tunes. Check track 9, Pollewop, in particular if you’re at all put at ease by cat purrs…

Chihei Hatakeyama – Afterimage

It’s hard to get any more chilled than these tunes which we’ll playing after midnight, especially the long final track, “Afterimage” itself. Serving suggestion: try listening to it while watching the news. We did, and found ourselves MUCH more chilled!

We are here to help you chill whenever you need to, wherever you want to. Here are our latest music finds. If you’ve found anything else we should be playing, you can email music@helpmechill.com

RINI – After The Sun

From Melbourne, Australia, where they are looking forward to the summer already. But it sounds perfect to us on a chilly autumn night.

KAWALA – Moonlight

They’ve grown from an acoustic duo to a lush and innovative live band. This is one of their most chilled songs.

Bruno Sanfilippo – Pianette

From Bruno’s new album due out in January, it’s inspired by dreams and toys. Maybe dreams about toys too.

RYD – I See U (Airport Version)

London’s Ryan Downie (RYD) made this ambient version of his latest tune inspired by one of our favourite albums for enjoying after midnights, Brian Eno’s “Music For Airports”.

Dodie – If I’m Being Honest

Latest chilled tune from the songwriter who is one of our top tips for super stardom in the year to come.

Luke Sital-Singh – The Last Day

A tender and melancholic song, connecting grief with everything we love about life.

If you’re in the mood for some chilled pianos, cinematic soundscapes or sublime Scandinavian songs, you’ll love our latest autumn additions. If you’ve found anything else we should be playing, you can email music@helpmechill.com

Exit North – Bested Bones

Exit North is a group of Swedish composers and multi-instrumentalists who have poured years of work and buckets of soul into their debut album, ‘Book of Romance and Dust’. This is the first song we’re featuring from that album.

Lights & Motion – While We Dream

We added “We Are Infinite” from this collection of soundscapes last week, and as we couldn’t pick favourites from the rest, we’re playing the lot.

Christoffer Franzen of Lights & Motion – Forever Is About To Happen

We also couldn’t overlook this solo release from the group’s Gothenburg-based founder.

Akira Kosemura – Yearbook EP

Moving to Tokyo, we find this composer’s latest small collection of piano tunes beautifully chilled and uplifting.

Smeyeul – Distant Travels

This is a Chillhop release, the latest from a legendary US beatmaker.

Josh Alexander – Canter

This Bristol-based composer and musician fuses classical piano with synths, and this is the first song we are featuring from his debut album, “Hiraeth”, out today.

Kinobe – Elvissa

From the legendary British group who invited us to “Slip Into Something More Comfortable”, this track from their new “Golden Age” album helps us feel very comfortably chilled.
